Dam Short Film Festival earns 2014 Excellence Grant from Nevada Arts Council
The Dam Short Film Festival is proud to announce that our Festival is a recipient of a 2014 Partners in Excellence Grant from the Nevada Arts Council!
Boosted by the success of the 2013 Season, the Festival increased its budget for 2014 and was able to apply at a higher tier level than in previous years. The $3,469 grant amount represents an 82% increase over the $1902 awarded to the Festival in 2013. The funding is a crucial part of the Festival’s budget and will be used to continue to grow and develop the annual event. Super sweet!
Partnership in Excellence Grants offered by the Nevada Arts Council support “increased access to and participation in the arts across the state – through quality arts programming, arts education initiatives and cultural leadership.” Check out theNevada Arts Council website for more information about the opportunities, resources, and programs it supports for organizations and artists.
Dam Short Film Festival Director John LaBonney visited with representatives of the Nevada Arts Council at the “2013 Place Matters! Arts at the Heart Convening” in Reno in April, and took advantage of the arts organization building seminars and educational opportunities offered, all of which provided useful information that can be used to strengthen the Festival.
The Dam Short Film Festival would like to thank the entire hard-working staff of the Nevada Arts Council for all their efforts in supporting the arts in our state!
