Hedy Lamarr, WWII inventor and actress, born 100 years ago today

Hedy Lamarr was known for her beauty and her smarts. The actress, born in Austria 100 years ago today, shared a patent issued in 1942 for a technological system still used in military communications. She died in 2000 at the age of 86. Here she is in 1940 at Inglewood Racetrack with Don Ameche and Jimmy Stewart.
